3-4 Technique for Blocking Kicks

  2. When the opponent kicks with their right foot targeting the left rib area or the side of the neck, in the first move, step slightly forward with the front foot (left foot) towards the opponent. Use the left arm to scoop and intercept the opponent’s kick in the middle of the shin, opening the guard on the opponent’s left side. Lift the shin above a 50-degree angle, causing the opponent to lose balance, and then return to the Jod Muay stance on the left.
  3. When the opponent kicks with their left foot, targeting the right rib or the nape of the neck, the second move involves stepping slightly forward with the front foot (right foot) toward the opponent. Use the right arm to scoop and block the opponent’s kick at the middle of their calf, opening the opponent’s guard on the right side. Lift the calf higher than 50 degrees, causing the opponent to lose balance, and then return to the right Jod Muay stance.
